HILLSBOROUGH #2
Product Status: Sold
The "Hillsborough" series features walnut that was harvested in the Hillsborough, NC area. This particular piece offers a slightly smaller, and softer, profile than some of the tables from this series. The slab itself has an oval(ish) appearance, the lower edge has been randomly cutback to provide less of a sharp transition. Likewise, I went with an oval lower tier shelf, and rounded the outward facing corners of the table legs to dampen the strong squared off look. This piece also packs a very detailed ring and grain into its modest surface area. The three sets of growth rings identify this piece as from the area of the tree where a single trunk would shortly split into three distinct branches

The table top slab is almost 4" thick! As noted, it is oval shaped with the long axis measuring about 28" long, and the shorter being about 16". The lower shelf is a single piece of solid walnut and is just under 2" thick. The solid walnut legs are just under 2" x 2" , and the table height is 31".
