This coffee table features all the classic elements of a live edge design. The complete slab cross-section is presented; from the rough bark layer, to light sapwood, and finally the rich, dark black walnut heartwood. The walnut is highly figured and offers wispy lines into the contrasting sapwood. A large void was filled with multiple layers of purple/pink resin to provide a foggy, three dimensional visual. The slab is an impressive 3” thick, and measures about 50” in length. The typical width is around 15”, with the widest point being about 18”. The table top is appropriately supported by four raw steel (silver in color), heavy weight, 3 prong, hairpin legs. The legs are staggered to match the shape of the slab. The height, to the top of the table, is about 20”.
