This piece of oak displays an extremely varied and prolific amount of figuring. Each time you look at it you see something different. I refer to it as ‘Smiling Oak’ because when you look at it a certain way, with your eyes squinted a bit, you see a smiling face. The piece is a little more petite at about 5/8" thick, so I kept the legs simple and light weight. This table is perfect for someone looking for the live edge look, but desiring a less hefty look that the thicker slabs offer. There is a gold resin inset, which was chosen to blend/match the rich tones of the oak rather than contrast. This table is about 33 1/2” long, varies in width from 8 1/2” to 12”, and measures about 29 1/2” from the floor to table top. The top is supported by four raw steel (silver in color), standard weight, 2 prong, hairpin legs.
